FUND GIVING METHODS
Our Funds
Before applying, applicants can access tailored support, such as assisted applications and informal chats to explore ideas. We aim to remove barriers and make the process accessible to all, offering guidance on eligibility, programme fit, and even hands-on help in completing applications.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners and donors we have distributed over £2.5M in onward fund to diverse LGBT+ organisations from across the UK.
We are continuing to work proactively to bring new funding into the sector.
"The fund is truly participatory. The role of Community Panellists who bring a wealth of lived experience and professional/sector experience have been critical to the success of the fund. They can make informed decisions that are both rigorous and appropriate (weighing up risk appropriately), while always keeping intersectional LGBT+ communities at the heart of the process."
Our decision-making is participatory, with panels recruited through open calls, invitations to previous grantees, and outreach to our networks. We actively seek members with diverse lived and professional experiences, ensuring each funding panel is best placed to assess the specific fund. Panellists are trained in our systems, supported technically by our Giving Team, and bring valuable insight into the needs and realities of the communities we serve.
Once funding is awarded, our relationship with grantees continues. We offer wrap-around post-award support including workshops on fundraising, wellbeing, and online safety, helping groups to build resilience and capacity beyond the life of the grant. By combining financial investment with practical support and lived-experience-led decision-making, we aim to create lasting, meaningful change.
