We are the LGBT+ Fund, powered by Consortium.
Since 2019 our funding ability has been focused on fund redistribution, working with grant giving partners such as The National Lottery Community Fund, National Emergencies Trust, Henry Smith Foundation, GiveOut and Global Butterflies. This has ensured funds are reaching the LGBT+ not-for-profit organisations and groups that need it the most. We now want to expand on this by complementing this ongoing work with a broader, long term, LGBT+ Fund.
Right now, the LGBT+ Fund sits within Consortium, the umbrella body for the LGBT+ Voluntary and Community sector, who have been serving LGBT+ communities for almost 30 years. Our giving work was born out of community requests and need, and we remain driven by that. Our structure and processes for giving are likely to evolve and adapt over time, and we will be transparent and accountable to our communities as this happens.

Fund was the first true test of a genuine participatory grant-making process. From the
outset, it was designed by the communities it was there to support and it is simply magical
to see the difference this work has made to some of the most under-resourced parts of
our LGBT+ voluntary and community sectors."
The Future
We have a powerful dream, and we dare to dream bigger than ever before. Our greatest aspiration is to establish the UK’s first LGBT+ Endowment Fund, a beacon of hope and strength for our communities. This isn’t just about financial support; it’s about securing our future, building resilience, and fostering independence. With this fund, we will gain the freedom to direct our focus, to nurture the causes that truly matter to us, and to ignite positive change. The LGBT+ Fund, currently a vital part of Consortium, is more than just an entity, it’s a symbol of our collective pride and determination. Our passion drives us to nurture and expand this fund in the coming years, ensuring it endures as a guiding light for generations to come.
