FAQS
What do you mean by voluntary sector / not for profit?
The voluntary sector refers to organisations whose primary purpose is to create social impact rather than profit. It is for organisations registered with a legal structure, 'not-for-profit' status would be clearly defined in the company registration documents.
Is my group eligible to apply for a Grant?
Each grant opportunity has its own set of eligibility criteria - please view the live funds page to access the eligibility info.
OR contact the grants team if you are unsure: grants@consortium.lgbt
Do I have to be a Consortium member to apply for an LGBT+ Fund grant?
Our grants are open to both members and non-members, as long as they meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
My organisation is based outside of the UK, can we apply to a fund?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept applications from non-profit organisations and groups based outside of the UK. Please check the specific eligibility criteria for the fund you want to apply to.
Do you fund individuals?
No, we do not offer funding to individuals as we are only able to fund non-profit organisations and groups.
Who makes decisions on the applications?
All applications will go through a due diligence process by our Grants Team to ensure eligibility and to provide any relevant information to our Community Panellists. Our Community Panel Members lead on decision-making, feedback and prioritisation for applications received. The members are a range of intersectional LGBT+ people who share diverse lived experiences across the funds' communities of focus, to ensure fair and equitable decisions can be made on which organisations to fund. The panel members will make a collective decision on whether to award a grant, based on eligibility and priority of need while being supported by staff.
